Green Building Strategies

We believe the corner stone of sustainable building is energy efficiency. To be efficient is, at bottom, to conserve. When it comes to house construction, conservation means choosing durable materials and assembling these materials with processes that will assure their integrity.

Sealing, insulating, and proper ventilation are key. These elements taken together with good design make for a good house.

We prefer to use renewable and regional materials whenever possible. Natural and non-toxic paints and finishes make these materials easier to reuse and recycle. Every effort is made to minimize construction and demolition debris from entering the landfill.
